Quantity Surveyor

The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day activities and liaising with both the client and sub-contractors regarding tender response / preparation, costing, measuring, and valuing works, along with final account preparation.

Responsibilities and Duties

Estimating work value from site visits, drawings, specification, etc.
Obtaining quotes from subcontractors
Pricing tender documents
Following up tenders and quotes
Site measuring and inspections
Preparing, negotiating, measuring, valuing, and settling variations, interim valuations, and final accounts
Agreeing final accounts with clients / subcontractors
Attending pre-contract, post contract and site meetings
Attending presentations
Liaise with clients, architects, project managers, surveyors, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and trades
Cost control to ensure margins are being maintained through project progression
Reviewing sub-contractor base to ensure that best value is achieved
Producing billing information and agreeing approval for payment of suppliers
Pre-project cashflow planning and on-site cost monitoring
Daily liaison and communication with sub-contractors and operatives including verifying tender inclusions / compliance with requirements, negotiating costs, accounts, logistical arrangements, resolution of project cost issues and day to day operations.
Promote and increase group profile

Qualifications and Skills

To be suitable for the role you must be qualified to degree level in Quantity Surveying and have experience operating within a similar role and environment. You will need to be commercially aware, and keen to develop your skills and expertise. You will demonstrate a passion and excitement for your work and have the ability to tackle problems head on and work to resolve them without delay.
A self-motivator with excellent pre-and post-contract cost and commercial management skills, you will be articulate in written and oral English communication.

Benefits
£45 - £55k, including salary, pension, vehicle allowance, mobile phone, PC / laptop, 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), company holiday. Negotiable depending on experience.
Required education: Diploma
Required experience: Quantity Surveying: 3 years
Required language: Fluent English
Required licenses or certifications:

CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
Driving License
