Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager to develop a new Electrical Wholesale division for this very successful and well established engineering company based in the Wolverhampton area who are well respected in the plumbing industry. Your role as a Business Development Manager will include researching and using your industry knowledge to define how best to approach the Electrical Wholesale sector in terms of product opportunities and the route to market. You will present an overview to the Board for their recommendations.  You will offer feedback to Production on necessary product development and any approvals that may assist the company enter this sector. You will also initiate and advise on what Marketing aid will be required to support a sales effort.

As the new division becomes developed you will be actively involved identifying sales leads, pitch goods or services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts.

Additionally, you will:

  • Follow up new business opportunities and set up meetings
  • Plan and prepare presentations
  • Communicate new product developments to prospective clients
  • Contribute to the development of marketing literature
  • Write reports
  • Provide management with feedback

Whilst establishing this new venture your time will be split between researching, visiting customers and working with an internal team to anchor the new division.

  • Strong background in technical Sales in the Electrical Wholesale sector with the ability to prepare quotations
  • Strong account management and relationship building skills
  • Engineering or Electrical Wholesale background desirable
  • Knowledge of service and maintenance contracts desirable

Salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience.
