Ecommerce Assistant

Our Client, a market leader in everything hydraulic is recruiting for an Ecommerce Assistant to join them on a permanent basis. Immediate start.

Role Overview

Our client is looking for a highly organised, driven and motivated individual who can perform a multitude of tasks to support their growing Ecommerce team. Reporting directly to the Ecommerce Manager. This role will have a primary focus on all online selling platforms to keep the content and products up to date as well as adding new product lines as they become available. The role will also have a wider remit to be involved in the ongoing development and optimisation of the website, improving the customer experience and the design of website pages including category and product merchandising.

To be considered for this role, you should:

  • Have experience working within and uploading products on Magento, ebay, Amazon
  • Have experience and a basic understanding of SEO practices
  • Have a basic understanding of Google Sheets or Excel
  • Have a basic understanding of Google Analytics
  • Demonstrate great attention to detail and an ability to follow processes
  • Show an ability to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
  • Possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Have a creative outlook and an understanding of Web Design

Merchandising skills required:

  • Experience of product display and merchandising
  • Experience using Photoshop
  • Experience creating mailshots and promotional Banners
  • Excellent verbal and typed communication skills
  • Attention to detail and extremely organized
  • Able to work with pace and urgency
  • Experience creating social media posts and Ads

In this fast-paced role, no two days will be the same and your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the effective day to day running of the website, working with external agencies where appropriate to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Identifying trading opportunities and monitoring consumer trends
  • Collecting onsite data and carrying out research to improve websites
  • Ensuring products are set up accurately and promptly across all platforms
  • Maximising online conversion through developing effective customer journeys
  • Using web analytics to gain insight into user behaviours and providing regular reporting of performance across all channels including Marketplaces, along with recommendations

Technical Skills desirable:

  • Previous helpdesk / I.T support experience
  • knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Basic network experience
  • Experience Installing/updating software
  • Basic knowledge of phone systems
  • Exposure to cloud technologies

  • Ability to perform effectively and efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions but know when to ask for support & guidance
  • Willing to put forward suggestions to improve processes and customer experience

  • Ability to adapt to customers’ needs and ensure priorities are met
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday 8.30 am -5 pm Friday 8am – 4pm
  • Occasional overtime required
