Our client is a very successful Shrewsbury based company who champion a “Customer First” approach across their entire business. They are looking for an experienced Transport Manager who can demonstrate excellent working knowledge of Transport Compliance and best practices. You will understand company O Licence obligations, ensuring that appropriate controls and procedures are managed; Ability to plan driver resource strategically, tactically and operationally to utilise own transport to its maximum capacity. Experience of monitoring Drivers Hours, WTD and Records. Hours are 6am - 4pm but may be adjusted to 9am - 7pm on occasions. Salary is negotiable for the right candidate.
Leads, empowers and develops the transport team including growing the company's own transport capabilities in line with strategic plans. Understand and appreciate customer requirements and the company's quality standards.
Identify risks, issues and opportunities and deploy innovative solutions to improve on the company's Customer Experience; H&S, Environmental and O Licence compliance; Improve on and Deliver a Best in Class Service through the team; Increase own transport reach through effective planning.
Oversee the KPI’s for Logistics, actively seeking to identify and improve efficiencies; Regular review of Carrier Management; Vehicle Maintenance and Transport Compliance; Plans driver resource strategically, tactically and operationally to utilise own transport to its maximum capacity.
Skills and Experience required
CPC – Certificate of Professional Competence (National as Minimum requirement)
Ideally 3 Years experience in similar role/environment Customer, people and results centric
IT – ability to leverage software and hardware platforms to advantage
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Excellent people management and communicator
Positive attitude towards continued learning and growth.
